Security has always been an issue in today's age of advanced technology and the public dependence on these technologies. IT professionals have made security a priority in most corporations by monitoring company networks and securing employee and customer data. Something that gets overlooked quite often is hardware security such as the physical computers or a IT professionals/employee losing a USB drive containing important information. It could be as simple as misplacing your USB drive and it falling into the wrong hands giving them access to its contents.

There is a technology that I looked at that allows you to secure the USB drive using a encryption key on the front of the drive that must be entered to unlock the drive. The Aegis Secure Key is one such device it is easy to implement and configure, uses a 256-Bit AES CBC (Cipher-Block Chained) hardware encryption and a pin of up to 15 characters that must be entered before connecting it to the computer. It also uses auto lock feature when unplugged and deletes any data on the drive if the pin is reset. This product is compatible with Windows, MAC OS, Linux, Android & Symbian and using USB 2.0.
